ستتعلم في هذا الموضوع كيفية إجراء فحص صحة العين مع الأشخاص من جميع الأعمار.
التحضير
ستحتاج إلى:
- A well-lit space with no direct sunlight or glare
- Chair for the person to sit on
- Small torch.
- اغسل يديك وجففها دائمًا (بالصابون أو الجل المعقم) قبل وبعد كل فحص لصحة العينين
- Avoid touching the person’s eyes.
Explain:
- You will use a small torch to look at the person’s eyes
- You are checking for any signs of an eye health problem.
إجراء فحص صحة العين
- Use the torch so that you can see the person’s eyes clearly
- Shine the torch across the right eye and left eye. Avoid shining the torch into the person’s eyes for longer than a few seconds directly
- Look for any signs of unhealthy eyes.

Record results
Record the results on the PEC Screen form.
- If both eyes look healthy select yes, and skip to action taken
- If one or both eyes do not look healthy select no, and record why by selecting the relevant boxes.

If a person:
- Has signs of a red eye problem (redness and/or discharge) Guide two: Red eye problems
- Has signs of an external eye problem (crust, swelling, lumps, inward turning eyelashes) Guide three: External eye problems
- لديه علامات على وجود مشكلة أخرى في العين (عين غير واضحة أو حليبية أو عينان لا تنظران في نفس الاتجاه، وأعراض أخرى) الرجوع إلى أخصائي صحة العيون
- Is under three years old with any of the above symptoms Guide four: Children 3 years and under
- Has signs of an eye injury (chemical, burn, knock or cut, foreign body in eye) Guide five: Eye injuries.
قد لا يكون من الممكن إجراء فحص صحة العين.
على سبيل المثال، قد يكون من الصعب إكمال فحص صحة العين مع طفل يصعب عليه الثبات، أو شخص لا يستطيع اتباع تعليماتك.

Luciana attended an appointment for primary eye care because she has a small lump on her right lower eyelid. It is mildly painful. There is no discharge, and no itchiness. She has not had an injury to her eye. She has no other symptoms.
What action would you take?
Finish the screen and then look at Guide three: External eye problems.
This is because Luciana’s right eye does not look healthy. She has a lump which is a sign of an external eye problem.
