Michael was born blind. His mother assists him to get dressed for school in the morning, but he would like to do it himself.
Michael has difficulty locating and selecting the clothes he wants to wear. Sometimes he finds it hard to know if the clothes are the right way up. This means he can put on clothes incorrectly.
A health worker tells Michael and his parents about a community organization that supports people with low vision and blindness.
They contacted the organization and a support worker came to visit and suggested:
- Sewing shapes or small buttons onto labels to help Michael identify the colour of his clothes
- Selecting clothes and shoes with Michael and laying them out in the same place each night, ready to put on the next day.
