El segundo paso de la provisión de un producto de apoyo es la prueba y el ajuste del producto para que se adapte a la persona.
Near vision spectacles should fit comfortably on a person’s face.
If spectacles do not fit well:
- los sienta incómodos;
- quizás no se los ponga;
- sienta que se les mueven de sitio o señale que se les caen.
Near vision spectacles are not usually adjustable. To get the best fit, you need to select the most appropriate size of frame for the person.

The ideal fit for near vision spectacles
Ancho: No mayor que el ancho total de la cara de la persona. Si la montura es demasiado ancha o demasiado estrecha, las varillas no se adaptarán bien a los lados de la cara de la persona y resultarán incómodas.
Elementos que se han de comprobar:
- There should be no more than a one finger width gap between the person’s face (just behind their eyes) and the arm of the spectacles.
Bridge and nose pads: Spectacles should fit snugly on the bridge of the person’s nose.
Elementos que se han de comprobar:
- Ask the person if the spectacles feel comfortable (not pinching). Ask them to move their head up and down and check the spectacles stay in place.
Nivelado: La montura debe quedar bien nivelada con respecto a la cara de la persona, sin que se vea torcida.
