Le presentamos a Rashid.

Rashid is 47 years old and a truck driver. He was worried that he was not seeing clearly. He had a simple vision screen at his local health clinic. The results of the vision screen showed that he would likely benefit from near vision spectacles.

The health worker gave Rashid a clear explanation of near vision problems in older adults (presbyopia), which Rashid found reassuring. The health worker said:

“As people get older, it gets harder to see objects up close. For some people this starts after 40. It happens because the lenses in our eyes that control focusing get less flexible with age. So it becomes harder for our eyes to focus on small things. The good news is that near vision spectacles can really help.”

Near vision spectacles help a person with near vision problems in older adults (presbyopia) carry out any activity that is within arms-reach.

For example, to read, sew, write, cook, harvest, repair things or use a mobile phone.
