There are different methods and tests used for vision screening.
The TAP vision screen is a simple process to find out if a child or adult has an eye health problem and/or difficulty seeing.
The TAP vision screen results help identify whether a person:
- Should be referred to an eye health professional or medical doctor for assessment
- Should be referred for prescription spectacles (not included in TAP)
- May benefit from vision assistive products that are included in TAP
The TAP vision screen includes:
- Simple eye health check (for people 8 years and older)
- Simple distance vision test (for people 8 years and older)
- Simple near vision test (for people 40 years and older).
Warning
The TAP vision screen is not a full vision assessment. Always refer to an eye health professional or doctor if this is indicated by the vision screen results, or if you have any concerns at all.
