When a person already has a walking aid
In this topic we will look at what to do when the person already has a walking aid.
The walking aid assessment form includes questions to ask to help decide if the current walking aid is suitable.
If a person is already using a walking aid, you will need to decide with them:
- If their current walking aid is meeting their needs
- If their current walking aid needs repair or replacement, or
- If they need a different walking aid.
You will learn how to decide whether to repair or replace a walking aid in Lesson five.
