Vision
What are magnifiers and telescopes?
Magnifiers and telescopes are low vision assistive products that make objects appear larger.
They can assist people with low vision to see objects, pictures or printing that they might not otherwise be able to see.
Magnifiers help with near vision (seeing objects that are close).
A magnifier may help with tasks such as:
- Reading or writing
- Sewing or craft activities
- Looking at small, detailed objects.
Telescopes help with distance vision (seeing objects that are far away).
A telescope may help with tasks such as:
- Seeing a blackboard clearly
- Finding people or objects in the distance.
- Do you know anyone who uses a magnifier or telescope?
- If yes, how does it help them do the activities they want to do?
