Assessment is an important step in providing a walking aid.
During an assessment, you will gather information to understand the person’s health, activity, abilities, where they will use their walking aid, and how they move around.
This information will help you and the person to together select the right walking aid for them.
Information from the assessment will also help you to plan:
- How the person will use their walking aid
- What the person needs to learn to using their walking aid safely
- Follow up
