Hearing and ear health in children

This module provides an introduction to hearing, hearing problems and ear health and how to carry out a hearing and ear health screen.

Module duration: 1.5 hours online, followed by supervised practice as needed

Before you start, check that you have completed these modules:

Resources you will need

  • Audiometer (machine, tablet or phone app)
  • Noise cancelling headphones
  • Otoscope
  • Speculum (small and medium size)
  • Handwashing facilities or hand sanitizer
  • Wipes or disinfectant and cotton wool to clean equipment
  • Table and two chairs
