What resources are available for Mentors?

Mentors facilitate online and in person learning and provide local context for Learners. The following resources are available for Mentors:

  • Mentor notes: some modules include Mentor notes. These provide guidance for each module, including required materials for in person practice, suggestions for facilitating group discussions and practical activities, and contextual planning tips. The Mentor’s notes can be used to prepare timetables for online and in person learning.
  • Service delivery checklist: most modules have Service delivery checklists (previously known as Skills checklists). These are a structured tool to assess Learner readiness for independent practice. The checklist can be used to identify areas where further supported practice is needed. It also includes guidance on what to observe, evaluate and document and how to offer feedback on a Learner’s performance of the clinical tasks covered in the module.
  • Other resources: there is a range of course-specific implementation handbooks that provide additional information to support mentoring.
