Hearing assistive products

This module introduces hearing assistive products and how to carry out an ear health screen.

Module duration: 2 hours online, followed by supervised practice as needed.

Before you start, check that you have completed these modules:

  1. Introduction to assistive products

Resources you will need

  • Otoscope with at least two sizes of speculum, spare battery and bulb
  • Ear washout kit:
    • Clean water (boiled and cooled to slightly warm) and container
    • 20 millilitre syringe (no needle)
    • Kidney dish or other bowl
    • Tissues, paper towel or towel
  • Tissues for ear mopping
  • Bin for disposing used ear wicks
