歩行支援用品を安全に使用するには、適切な靴が必要です。

Appropriate shoes reduce the risk of falling and of injuring the feet.

People with diabetes should be strongly encouraged to wear appropriate shoes.

Look at the examples of appropriate shoes and identify the important parts of an appropriate shoe.

Sport shoe

Shoes parts include (see the labelled image above):

  • ストラップ/靴ひも – フィッティングを調整できるストラップまたは靴ひも
  • Heel support – a strong support around the heel so that the shoe does not fall off
  • つま先スペース – つま先周りの空間(指をくねらせられるゆとりが必要)
  • Heel  low heel
