Some of the key words used in this module are explained below. You can print these to use as you work through the module.
Soft tissue – Soft tissue connects and supports bones and joints. Examples of soft tissues are muscles, tendons and ligaments.
Rocker sole – When the bottom (sole) of a shoe or rigid removable boot has a curved shape so that it rocks.
Cast – Firm, close fitting support made of plaster or fiberglass to stop movement of part of the body to allow healing. A cast is individually made and worn until it is removed by a health worker.
